BUZZ’S FAQ’s = Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have FREE TIME or do we have to stay with the group 24/7?
Unlike the typical bus tour of Europe, BUZZ’s hotels are located directly in the center of the city, you have the freedom to come and go as you like. You can stop in for a midday power nap or shower before hitting the nightclubs.  There are NO curfews & NO Lockouts!
We understand that each person has a different personality with likes and dislikes so we run activities and explore each city every day from 8am to midnight or later so you can get the most out of your vacation.
It is your freedom of choice to join us or you can visit your personal “MUST SEE” site or museum that you are interested in.  If you don’t want to go to a nightclub or disco, ask BUZZ and he will offer many options and may even take you on a night tour of the city.

Can I go by myself or do I need a roommate?
Don’t let lazy, flaky or unmotivated friends prevent you from Your Adventure of a Lifetime! Meet new friends from all over the world! On the past 14 summer tours, over 20% of the participants were solo travelers.  Get to know everyone on the tour!

How many people go on each tour?
We run every tour with a minimum of  8 persons up to a maximum of 75 persons per tour!
On the larger tours, extra tour escorts are added so you the client can break down in smaller groups and explore different museums and different parts of the city based on your interests.

When do I sign up?
SIGN UP NOW! The tours have SOLD-OUT for the past 14 years! Mail your deposit TODAY to guarantee your spot on the tour! Balance is due by March 26, 2011.

How do I sign up?
Print out and complete the application and emergency form below and mail today with a initial payment of $200.00   If you pick the air inclusive air package, please be sure to mail us a total of $1,300.00 by January 1, 2011 so we can purchase your air ticket and you can fly with your friends and the group. (See air information below).

How much extra spending money do we need to bring?
That all depends on your eating, drinking and shopping habits! Over the past 14 years, my clients have spent from $600.00 - $1,500.00 The overall average has been around $950.00    Your spending money is for lunch, dinner, optional tours or museums, alcohol, shopping, phone calls, items of personal nature, etc., etc. If you budget yourself on meals by buying food and bottled water at markets and having many picnics, you can splurge in other areas!

Who is our Tour Guide?
David Bussing A.K.A. BUZZ & Proud Owner. BUZZ has traveled in Europe over 30 months in the past 14 years.  He has visited over 17 countries and taken over 1,250 train rides throughout Western and Eastern Europe and Great Britain. BUZZ will show you the famous sites, cheap eats, hot spots, nightclubs and help you avoid the tourist traps, pick-pockets & con artists.

Why should I sign up with BUZZ’S instead of one of the bus tours offered by my school or travel agent.
BUZZ’S is a unique combination of doing Europe by yourself and by going on a packaged charter bus tour.

Warning: On most Charter Bus tours, (BUZZ’S travels by TRAIN!), you view many sites from ONLY the bus windows. You also checkout of many hotels by 6:30 a.m. to board a cramped bus and travel ALL DAY to the next city.   Trains are twice as fast = BUZZ gives you more time in each city!.
These bus tours do NOT include taxes or tips to the driver and guides!    Read the small print, your lodging maybe located up to one hour from the city center!

The big difference is;

  • BUZZ’S groups are smaller and more personal service is provided.
  • BUZZ personally prepares you for the tour from passport applications to pre-trip meetings. Discounts on travel luggage, and a FREE packing clinic.
  • BUZZ provides you with FREE trip checklists based on the experience of our past male and female clients. You can contact past clients to get their honest opinions and clothing recommendations.
  • BUZZ’S gives you an ADVENTURE TOUR through Europe by the TRAINS instead of a crowded charter bus. Travel like a local with all the locals!
  • Every detail is covered and you can always call BUZZ with any questions.
  • BUZZ’S gives you plenty of FREE TIME and flexibility, if you need it!
  • BUZZ’S books a variety of very nice hotels and rented rooms that are located in the CENTER of the cities close to restaurants and all the tourist sites. Note: Most BUS tour packages stay up to 40 minutes outside the city for cheaper hotel rates.
  • With BUZZ’S you get to enjoy the culture and nightlife of the city at all hours and it’s just outside your door!  You can go for an early morning walk/jog or view the illuminated monuments at night on your own leisure time.
  • Experience: BUZZ’S teaches you the ropes of traveling Europe. If you are interested,  BUZZ will show you how to get the most of your travel days from subways and trains to museums and monuments. On many days you can break off from the group and explore the cities on your own, go shopping or just relax in a park or at the beach.
  • Up Close and Personal: BUZZ’S allows you to see everything in person, up close and personal. You get to touch and smell the sights and scents of Europe.  You can go for early morning or late night walks and view the sites without the crowds or under the lights at night.
  • Train Travel: BUZZ’S travels through Europe by train for more flexibility with frequent departures between the cities and they are NOT as claustrophobic as the tour buses. Travel to the next city in half the time it takes by bus = more time in each city! Trains also give you more room to move around. Visit the dining cars, meet new friends exploring the entire train. Trains also provide you with more chances to meet and talk with the locals and other travelers.

Can we extend our tour and go on our own?
YES! Let BUZZ teach you skills needed to travel on your own and take off and explore the world! Many past clients have traveled to Spain and Greece. Call BUZZ for details and prices. Note: Some clients in the past have left our group in Italy to visit Spain and join back up with us in Amsterdam.

Do you have any shorter tours?
Yes. You can start and end at any of the cities we visit.
BUZZ can help you design a tour for 7, 14 or 22 days.  CALL BUZZ TODAY! 818-707-6907

Why aren’t all the meals provided and included in the tour price?
Group meals in Europe SUCK!  You must plan your day around your meals and you must eat at a specified time and at a specified restaurant. Experience has taught us that everyone has individual tastes, appetite & varying amounts of consumption. BUZZ and past clients prefer the flexibility in when, where, what and how much in regard to meals. You can picnic in the parks, eat at a sidewalk cafe, or compare the taste of a McDonald’s hamburger in Europe. It’s your choice! BUZZ will be happy to show you his favorite restaurants, cafes and small markets!

How much does food cost in Europe?
Food costs about the same in Europe as it does in the USA, but the current exchange will increase your total costs a bit.  If you shop in the local supermarkets you can save a bunch of money.  Hit the local market the night before or first thing in the morning and buy water, snacks and fruit to eat during the day.  This will prevent you from having to buy overpriced food next to the tourist sites and inside museum cafeterias.
You can find 1.5 liter bottle of water for as low as .13 - .25 Euro cents. (.20 - .38cents USD)
You can drink the tap water in each city.  No one has ever been sick from drinking the water.
Local supermarkets offer cheap bread, pasta dishes, fresh fruit and pre-mixed salads just like in the U.S.
Fish & Chips at a local London Pub will cost you about 4.00GBP ($6.40USD)
Munich’s main train station features a large food court and sandwiches start at 1.50 Euros ($2.25 USD)
Gyros and Kebabs are very popular in Europe and the shops are open late.
Chain restaurants like McDonalds and Subway are now offering low priced menus like in the U.S.

How do I get a passport?

Stop by Costco photo department or a Kinko’s and get 2 passport photos.
Stop by your local post office and ask them for a passport application and where the nearest Passport Processing Center is located near your home. Do it now, it takes up to six weeks!

Do I need any travel visas?
If you are a LEGAL U.S. citizen, you do NOT need any visas to the countries we are going to visit. If you have citizenship from another country or you only have a green card, you must check with your Embassy or Consulate and the U.S. Government. DO IT NOW!

What type of luggage do we need?
Small suitcases with wheels are now very popular and most of you already have one at home.  You must be able to carry them up many stairs. Don’t worry you only carry your luggage when transferring to and from the train station and your lodging.  A backpack, just like what you use at school is perfect when you are exploring the sites of the city. Load it up with your water bottle, camera, snacks, and go see the world!
We will give you maximum luggage sizes and suggestions at the pre-trip meeting in May or by mail.
